ABOUT

I am a home cook, artist, new mother, and I’m addicted to playing hostess.  Thus far, Madaket Market has been a cooking journal, although the name would suggest otherwise.  My intention was for this to be a place for me to document my creative endeavors- food, decorating, entertaining and all things artsy-crafty.

Now that I am finally settling into a home of my own, complete with a fab kitchen, dedicated art room, supportive husband, happy dog and hand-me-down kitchen table,  I feel free to execute the ideas constantly overtaking my thoughts.  I like to think of this place as a happy homemaking market of inspiration.  After all, home is where the heart is and home is the most important place in the world.

I sometimes wonder why I like to cook, entertain and craft.  Obvious credit would have to go to my family; mom, grandmothers, aunts and cousins on both sides.  Until recently, I always thought it was normal to do craft projects on family trips, receive homemade Christmas gifts and hear constant chatter about new art projects. I am so thankful to be related these women. They are all artists; painters, crafters, cooks, photographers, quilters, knitters and givers.  I still have lots to learn from them!  This is a place where I can collaborate with all the creative people close to me.

Hi !

We would like your permission to use the lovely photo of the man playing a guitar and dog for a Power Point presentation and video we are doing for a non-profit organization. We would also like the photographer’s information for the credits.

Thank you!
Kate
